The high-speed laser notching machine is a key element in the production process of power battery electrodes. The electrodes produced by the laser notching machine are processed in the winding machine to produce cells.

Reduce cost and increase efficiency

Winding adopts speed closed-loop tension control with direct motor connection. The system damping and bandwidth are better than closed-loop torque and magnetic powder scheme. The system is more stable and easy to adjust, eliminating the magnetic powder process and reducing machine costs.

Clear instructions

The machine incorporates a full array of easy-to-use functions facilitating the rapid production of a specific electrode product. Instructions include general-purpose signposts enable coordinate system conversion, roll diameter calculation, and PID control, as well as more specialized guides enabling such functions as the calculation of rates of tension model transfer.

Stable control of winding tension

Tension control calculates the optimal PID parameters of the control system during steady-state and acceleration/deceleration operation of the machine, ensuring that fluctuations in tension and line speed are minimized and the roll diameter remains constant. Control is fast, accurate, and widely customizable. When the machine is operating at a running speed of 160m/min, tension variation is reduced from ±10N to ±3N.

Fast and stable roll change

During automatic roll changing, a geometric model is established based on the mechanism to calculate the feedforward speed of the winding shaft in real-time, achieving higher roll changing efficiency and lower tension fluctuations.

Application

Laser tab forming machine used by GEESUN. The laser cuts the rolled & pressed electrode into boss-shaped tabs, and then uses a slitting cutter to divide the electrode in half, laser cutting speed m/min≥120m/min.
