MS1-R Series Explosion-Protected Servo Motor

The MS1‑R‑EX d series servo motors are built on the proven performance of the MS1‑R servo motor platform. Additional dedicated design features enable ATEX, IECEx, KCS and CCC certifications for operation in gas Zone 1 and dust Zone 21 hazardous locations. To suit a wide range of applications, these motors are offered in frame sizes from 60 mm to 180 mm, with a power range of 0.2 kW to 7.5 kW. Explosion‑protected motors are not designed to survive an external explosion, but to prevent the risk of fire or explosion ignition. These motors are suitable for use in mining, oil and natural gas refining, flour mills, grain elevators, textile mills, industrial paint booths and other hazardous‑location applications. Hazardous locations are classified by the types of hazardous materials and their probability of presence in a specific area under normal operating conditions.
