Solving Somalia’s Energy Crisis
In Somalia, where the average annual temperature exceeds 40°C, a local power generation company has long relied on eight large diesel generators to supply electricity for residential use. However, high fuel and maintenance costs, persistent noise pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions have constrained the company’s growth and impacted residents' quality of life.
Inovance Energy Storage Delivers a Breakthrough Solution
Technology Breakthrough in Extreme Heat
Confronted with average daily temperatures of 45°C, Inovance’s energy storage system delivers reliable performance through its Triple Shield Protection™ technology:
· Full load operation under high temperatures: Maintains 100% rated power output even in extreme heat.
· 150% overload capability: Handles sudden load surges seamlessly with less than 2% voltage fluctuation.
· Adaptability across all scenarios: With IP65-level protection, the system ensures high efficiency and durability in harsh environments.
Game-Changing Performance of the 2.5MW/3MWh Solar-Storage-Diesel Microgrid
· 40% reduction in costs: By combining a 2.5MW all-in-one unit with intelligent energy management, the system prioritizes photovoltaic consumption and stores surplus electricity, reducing diesel consumption by 30%.
· Green transition: The energy storage system replaces diesel generators, reducing noise levels by 60dB while cutting pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions, delivering continuous green power.
· Enhanced Power Stability: The 3MWh storage container ensures 8 hours of autonomous power during fuel shortages, safeguarding continuous electricity for communities.
The containerized storage system completed factory acceptance testing in July and has been shipped to Somalia. It is expected to help the customer reduce carbon emissions by 1,800 tons annually. Designed with a modular and expandable architecture, the system includes interfaces for future capacity expansion, offering a replicable model of a "high-resilience grid" for future renewable energy development in Africa.
As the global energy transition advances across Africa, Inovance Energy Storage is committed to supporting the United Nations’ efforts in promoting clean energy development. By reducing emissions and contributing to SDG7 with vehicle-grade reliability and climate-resilient design, we turn every kilowatt-hour into a green spark that illuminates Somalia’s future.
